About the Artist:

Lindsey Erin Whittaker was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia. She received her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 2007. She was strongly encouraged from the time she was born to create. Coming from a long line of painters, she was always painting and drawing, taking photographs, cooking or assessing the world with a critical eye, Lindsey is committed to the arts and pursuing an artistic life. Currently, Lindsey resides in Alameda, California and works in and around the East Bay. She finds inspiration from her local urban surroundings, the beautiful California landscape, her family and friends and the Alameda winds!

"I paint because it brings me peace within. It is the sincerest form of self-expression. It is uncensored visual energy. It is my pulse...my lifeline...that which connects me to more than the physical world. It stems from an innate force within. My paintings emphasize strength and energy using bold, bright, rich color in both Acrylic and enamel-based paints. From skateboards to birdhouses...canvases to sneakers to furniture, I live to paint the world in a fresh and vibrant way. My goal is to infuse the world with new colors and speak a new language with paint and form."
